Kilpatrick and Purdy Pond Restoration

The Nature Conservancy decides to move ahead with the restoration of Kilpatrick Pond.

In a major step to further enhance and restore the Pond area of Silver Creek the Nature conservancy announced that it has entered into an agreement with the Purdy family to restore the Kilpatrick Pond section and assist the Purdy's in the restoration of the Pond on the RR Ranch. This is big news considering the size and scope of the project. This section of Silver Creek has long been regarded as a major thermal problem for Silver Creek in the lower half of the stream. For over thirty years many landowners, fishermen and users of Silver Creek have wanted the Nature Conservancy to address this problem. Although SaveSilverCreek, org is excited to see a cooperative effort towards this project, we remain cautiously optimistic as we have seen this project started and stalled several times.
